Even in late winter and early spring, Maui’s temperatures during the day average in from the high 70s to mid 80s. It’s the perfect escape from frigid weather back home. Here are a few ideas of things to do in Maui in spring.

Winter to spring is the best time to go whale watching in Maui. From November to May, the North Pacific Humpback Whales visit the Hawaiian Islands as part of their annual winter migration, with peak season lasting from January to late March. Three separate groups of geographically isolated whales (called “stocks”) migrate to Maui annually.
Estimates state about half of the population is born in the waters of Maui. Humpbacks are the fifth largest of all whales. When baby humpback whales are born, they are about 12 feet long and weigh one ton. As adults, humpbacks can reach up to 50 feet in length.
Many whale watching tours depart from Lahaina Harbor. Enjoy scenic ocean views while your experienced tour guide takes you out to some of the best whale watching locations. See the majestic humpbacks up close and watch them surface, blowing their spouts and slapping their tails.
